We are a phone call away when you need help with a dental emergency. Whether you have an abcessed tooth, a gum problem or a dental injury we can assess your problem and help you get it addressed right away.
Our dental staff is working on a series of seminars that will be taken to Union, Cove and North Powder later in 2024. They will be bringing information about new technology in dental care, best practices for regular hygiene routines and the importance of dental health for total body wellness. At the same time, we will be discussing access to insurance and benefits available to our local residents. If you are as confused about Medicare and Medicaid as the average person, you will want to attend!
Union Family Dental Clinic has made amazing progress since 2020! We have upgraded all our technology used for patient care. Last April, Dr. Donick joined our clinic and has an amazing staff that is experienced and compassionate. They take great care of our patients - especially those who are nervous about dental procedures. Dr. Donick has allowed us to become a full-time clinic to serve our area and he has added a lot of new services for our patients. We want to add Teledentistry - the ability for patients to stream virtual appointments with their phone or computer. We need to add mobile dentistry so we can do screening clinics around our district boundaries and bring dental care to those who can't come to us. We need to expand from our tiny space so we can increase staff and reduce wait times for appointments. In other words - thanks to your support of our clinic - we need a new building. We are in the process of applying for grants and building partnerships to make that happen. You will be seeing more as we move forward.
South County is not just a dental clinic - it is a Health District. We are authorized by the State of Oregon to provide a wide range of health service to our community. Grande Ronde Hospital does a great job of providing primary care services to our rural community, so we are focused on the things they don't do. The community came to us and asked us to provide a foot clinic. This is a serious issue for seniors and disabled individuals. If you are diabetic or have had a hip replacement, insurance will pay for a medical professional to take care of your feet. Other than that, it's a real struggle for people. Foot care and hygiene are vital for good health. Not only can you get an infection from poor hygiene, but there could be an injury or condition that is going unseen and untreated. Uncut nails can lead to problems with walking due to pain and other issues. This foot clinic will be a nurse-supervised program that will help individuals receive routine care without paying huge prices at the beauty salon. Because we have a real crunch on space at our dental clinic, we will be partnering with the Catherine Creek Community Center for the location we need to do this clinic. We expect to be able to launch this program late this spring.
Because we are a non-profit community clinic we work hard to make care as affordable as possible. We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. We also offer affordable self-pay options for those without insurance.
